I’m a retired middle aged Interior Designer, crafter, artist, seamstress and a dam good cook, thanks to my Mom. Here I will amuse you with my tongue in cheek humor concerning lifestyle, wellness, travel, great recipes and solid decorating advice.
I’m known to wear lipstick. Not the faint pink, but the real fun colors like Russian Red or Hot Lips Mauve. So, please be a friend and tell me if I have lipstick on my teeth!

A BIT MORE ABOUT MYSELF
Lipstick on My Teeth…What Else is New? I have thought about writing for a long time. Maybe a thriller novel about the murder I witnessed, well almost witnessed. Or about my life which has not followed the path I thought I would have taken. But about those of us who have been there and know that, or who can really relate to most experiences, cause you have heard about it from, well, you just can’t remember who anymore..
I will touch on where I am today. A middle aged woman: not saying where in middle age, was married to a gentleman I stumbled on in a bar a long time ago… I love to dramatize.
Actually I met Jim through my best friend Sherry who said I need a night out after a horrible break up. I digress, Jim and I were married for about 38 years and so much to tell you about in between. But, will get to that stuff later.
My career was an interior designer, which I cannot put out of my brain. It’s there all the time. Silently I am telling the doctor’s office they need to freshen up this place with new pictures and paint for God’s sake.
My visits to other homes have me totally redecorating with new accessories or mentally moving furniture. My own home is not what you would think. Oh yes, it is full of stuff. Lots of accessories collected from trips around the world.
Decorating was a big part of my life for 30 years. When commission is the better part of your paycheck, I learned real quick to be more demonstrative and start selling. How else was I going to pay for the trip to Mexico my friend and I had planned!! Designing for a High End furniture store for 25 years earned me several certificates and awards on Excellence for Design. Moved to Maryland with my husband’s new job and 3 years later we move back to our original home in Virginia where life really changed .oh yeah…I still wear lipstick.
